How to play this letter grid puzzle
Decide whether each letter stays or goes. Each row and column must keep its target number of letters and spell an allowed word in order. A cell has one decision shared by both directions. Every letter must be marked before completion.
Click or tap a cell to cycle through excluded, kept and undecided. Use arrow keys inside the grid, Enter or Space to cycle, K to keep, X to exclude, and Delete or Backspace to clear. Right-click keeps a letter. Tab moves to the other controls.
Learn, Practice and Challenge
Learn offers three stages: reading counts, following crossing constraints, and checking words as well as numbers. Hint explains a forced deduction before Apply hint changes the cells. Practice gives access to all 20 fixed puzzles. Challenge filters the same library by difficulty. These are not additional or randomly generated puzzles.
What the difficulty labels mean
Starting from an undecided grid, we list every allowed position pattern in each line. A round marks only cells that all surviving patterns agree on, then carries those decisions into the crossing lines. Easy takes one such round, Medium takes two, and Hard takes three or four. Labels compare this library’s deduction depth, not vocabulary level or your expected solving time.
Why the word bank matters
Each puzzle has exactly one position solution under its displayed bank and counts, checked by exhaustive enumeration. We make no claim of uniqueness across all English words. Repeated words are allowed. Equal letters in different squares are separate decisions: choosing the wrong copy can break a column even if the row reads correctly.
Checks, hints and your saved game
Check identifies conflicting marks and undecided cells. Undo reverses the last action, including an applied hint. Reset clears the current puzzle after an inline confirmation; solved puzzles can be replayed without deleting your completion record. Your current decisions and recent Undo history are saved locally. If saving is unavailable, the game still works until you leave or refresh. Progress cannot sync between devices.
