ORIGINAL WORD TRAIL PRACTICE

Six-Letter Word Guess

A Word Trail original, not Clueffy. Six letters, five guesses, 30 fixed practice puzzles.

Loading the six-letter dictionary…

Rules, saving and word-list limits

Only a new, accepted six-letter English word uses a turn. A wrong guess unlocks one more clue, up to five. Match all six letters to win; a fifth wrong guess ends the round and shows the word. The symbols explain the colors. Repeated letters are matched only as many times as they occur in the answer, with correct positions assigned first.

These are 30 fixed practice puzzles with no timer or Daily mode. Next puzzle prefers unsolved puzzles; Restart puzzle clears this round while keeping your solved count. Submitted guesses and completed puzzle IDs stay in this browser, without an account or device sync. Unsubmitted typing is not saved. Clearing site data removes progress. If saving is blocked, you can still play.

Accepted guesses use the same CC0 English word source as our other word games, filtered to six letters. The full dictionary includes uncommon and adult words; the 30 target words were selected separately. A real English word may be missing. Rejected words do not spend a guess.

How the six-letter Clueffy game works

The Daily Word Game on clueffy.com combines meaning clues with letter feedback. Find one six-letter English word in five guesses. You begin with one clue; each valid wrong guess opens another. Read the new clue alongside the earlier ones rather than treating it as a separate puzzle.

  • Green: the letter is in the right position.
  • Orange: the letter belongs in a different position.
  • Dark: that copy of the letter is absent. A repeated letter can have different feedback on different tiles.

Type a word and press Enter, or use the on-screen keyboard. A wrong-length, unrecognized or repeated guess does not spend a chance. A fifth valid wrong guess ends the round and reveals the word. Daily changes at midnight UTC; Practice offers other puzzles from the site's fixed collection.

A letter-feedback example

Imagine the answer is BRIDGE and your guess is BRIGHT. B, R and I are in the correct positions. G is in the word but needs to move. H and T are absent. Your next guess needs to fit those positions and the meaning clues.

This is our own illustrative example, not a daily puzzle or a claim about today's answer.

Tips for your next guess

Use the meaning before spending a turn

List a few six-letter possibilities in your head. A clue may describe an object, an action or a second meaning of the same word. If the first interpretation gives you nothing, try another sense before guessing unrelated letters.

Intersect the clues

After a wrong guess, look for a word that satisfies all the unlocked clues. A word that matches only the newest clue can still be a poor choice. The useful question is: what connects these descriptions?

Keep position and letter count separate

Keep confirmed green positions in your next candidate and move orange letters. A dark tile does not always ban that letter entirely: if another copy is colored, the guess may simply contain too many copies. Read the row as well as the keyboard.

Choose a test that can change your mind

When two candidates fit, compare the letters that distinguish them. A guess that tests those differences is more useful than repeating a pattern you already know. Check its meaning against the clues first; a letter-rich word with no connection can waste a limited turn.

Where to find Clueffy hints and answers

For the current six-letter Daily puzzle, open the hints and answer section on clueffy.com. Check the UTC date and make sure you are comparing Daily rather than Practice. Practice can show a different word.

Start with the gentlest hint and open another only if you need it. The source site says a hint marks an unfinished Daily round as assisted; revealing the answer ends that round without a win. The answer is a separate disclosure, so you can stop before a full spoiler.

This guide does not republish daily solutions or maintain an answer archive. A dated search snippet, a word from a practice round or an AI suggestion is not verification of today's answer. If the clues you see differ, check the exact game address, mode and date before trusting an answer page.

If you want help reasoning without a spoiler, write down the unlocked clues and the color of each letter in your submitted guesses. Ask for a single reasoning hint, with no answer or candidate words. Treat any suggestion as something to check against the board.

Questions about Clueffy and similar games

Is Clueffy a word game or a video creator?

The name can lead to different things. This guide covers the separate six-letter Daily Word Game at clueffy.com/daily-word-game. The clueffy.com homepage is now an independent directory of games from videos; its About page says it is not affiliated with the creator @clueffy. If you are looking for a rocket, bunny or another game from a video, start at that game finder instead.

Can I play Clueffy here?

Clueffy's six-letter game runs on clueffy.com. You can play our independent Six-Letter Word Guess at the top of this page: it also uses six letters, five guesses and progressive clues, but its 30 practice puzzles are our own. It has no Daily mode. Letter Lock is another original game here, with four letters and six guesses.

Can I keep playing after the daily puzzle?

The source site has a Practice mode. On Word Trail, you can also choose another fixed Letter Lock puzzle or try one of the other games above. Neither practice collection should be mistaken for a fresh official daily answer.

Sources and independence

Rules, modes and hint behavior were checked against the live game, its rules and its puzzle FAQ on October 25, 2026. The distinction from the video creator is explained on its About page. We completed one Practice round; this does not verify every puzzle or future changes.

Strategy, the BRIDGE example and comparisons are Word Trail editorial work. Word Trail is independent of Clueffy, clueffy.com and their operators. We link to the source game and do not host its code, artwork, clues or daily answers. See our sources and licenses for the Word Trail games.
